Borshch is Ukrainian – Did you know?

Over the years, many countries have laid claim to borshch as their own and make their own versions, but really borshch is Ukrainian! To recognize this, borshch is due to be added to the list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO, to acknowledge borshch as part of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.

Every household has its’ own secret version of borshch. Officially there are at least 30 varieties of Ukrainian borshch, but many people think there are as many varieties as there are people who make it! Our Baba’s Own recipe gives the home-style flavour we recognize and love.
